Dr. Gazi Hassan is an experienced economist with over 25 years in applied research, teaching, and academic leadership. His work spans behavioral and experimental economics, macroeconomic modeling, development macroeconomics, energy economics, and the SDGs. He has taught in Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, New Zealand, and the UAE, and is currently a Professor of Economics at North South University in Dhaka.
Dr. Hassan's research is published in leading international journals and informs policy on development, energy, and sustainability. He has held visiting appointments at the University of Oxford and UAE University, and is affiliated with the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis at ANU. He also serves as a South Asia Expert for the Asia New Zealand Foundation.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Western Sydney University.
